Quimbanda

        Brazilian Luciferian

Quimbanda differs from the Orixás cult in that it does not use the forces of nature to achieve its goals and desires, but rather the ancestral strength of the world of the dead. Generally, the spirits who work in the Quimbanda current are former Shamans, Caboclos Masters, Witches, Alchemists, Sorcerers, Warriors, Assassins, among others who fit into the energetic vibration of the cult, exerting their forces in the lines of Exu and Pombagira (female consort). We find in Quimbanda several aspects such as Quimbanda Xambá, Quimbanda Malei, Quimbanda Luciferiana.

When we say “Quimbanda” we are referring to the Cult of Exu and Pombagira formed in 'Brazilian Lands' through a long process of religious and cultural syncretism. Before entering the field of multiplicity, we made clear the difference - under our understanding - between 'Quimbanda and Kimbanda'.

Kimbanda is a word of African origin, more precisely from the language Kimbundo (Bantu) which means: Priest of the art of healing. Like other African cults, he came to Brazil through the slavery process. This form of traditional religiosity is one of the foundations of Brazilian Quimbanda, however, the form of spiritual development has often different and even opposite focuses. Brazilian Quimbanda appropriated not only Bantu culture, but also Yorubá, Amerindian and European cultures. Quimbanda is adaptation and corruption! If it were not so, the mask of our Mighty Masters would not be called Exu (word Yorubá). Quimbanda is like a powerful vortex that drinks from many bowls and vomits what it does not satisfy.

Quimbanda Luciferian differs from the other strands in that it has V. Lucifer as its main divinity and in some Quimbanda Luciferian cults they consider Lucifer as the only ruling divinity to be worshiped as a God. Thus the cult and works within Luciferian Quimbanda are amoral and are dissociated from any type of Christian dogma or conception, good and evil, as well as Luciferianism.

Within the cult of Quimbanda Luciferiana there are two types of distinct ritualistic segments, the first of which is made up of adherents who worship Lucifer as a deity together with the Exus considering these as entities belonging to Lucifer's court, that is, the cult is directed at Lucifer and the Exus without resorting to the use of demonolatry (devil worship). The second ritualistic type is that which, in addition to the traditional cult of the Exus and the deity Lucifer, makes recurrent use of demonolatry (cult of demons) in a broad sense and in a hierarchical manner with the Major demons normally exercising the command or spiritual strength for the realization of the works.

We understand that within each "Kingdom of Exu", there are several "Lines of Exu", however, there is a King who ministers the entire kingdom and phalanx leaders who act concurrently. The Kingdoms of Exu are:

Crossroads Realm
Kingdom of Cruises
Kingdom of the Woods
Kingdom of Kalunga Small (cemeteries)
Kingdom of Souls
Kingdom of Lira
Kingdom of Kalunga Grande (Beach)

The Kingdom of Crossroads

The crossroads are the great portal that allows Exus to be anywhere, which makes it one of the most important places for the worship of Exu, after all, Exu will direct according to the needs.

Exus are called at crossroads to work in the temples, just as their offerings must be made at the same point of strength. In addition, they are closely linked to the infernal imagination, as well as to the city of Torrinha, birthplace of the legendary Maria Padilha.

Quimbanda uses the “Kingdom of the Crossroads” to exchange all the other Kingdoms. The crossroads are like energetic "paths" that enable the spiritual locomotion of beings. These Legions provide victories against all enemies, teach powerful spells, open closed paths and, when necessary, heal the sick. They work in the processes of seduction and amorous slavery, in addition to being excellent advisers to their children and adepts of the black art.

The Kingdom of Cruises

The ancient sorcerers taught that the “Cruzeiro” is the true portal of Death that, like every door, has a double flow: Entry and exit. The Exus who manifest themselves in such lines are insurmountable guardians of the Quimbanda Temples, however, when enraged, they are bloodthirsty and perverse murderers, sorcerers who dominate the release of plagues and terrible diseases. On the other hand, if respectfully worshiped, they are able to cure the worst of diseases and avoid serious accidents.

Possessed of knowledge of the mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms, they are silent and voracious like the predators that inhabit the dark forests.

The Kingdom of Kalunga or Kingdom of the Cemetery

Kalunga, a word derived from the people of Congo or Angola, has a definition that resembles "Necropolises", "Land of the Dead", "World of Ancestors" or the fine line that separates the living from the dead. Some believe that “Kalunga” means the river that separates the living and the dead, a role very similar to the “Styx” river in Greek mythology.

                                                                   Kingdom of Souls

Alma is a word that derives from the Latin “Animu” (that which animates). Simply put, the soul is part of the original spark that cyclically wanders between reincarnations within material vessels (bodies) in search of liberation. Every pilgrimage throughout life builds and destroys material convictions in beings that enter an emotional turmoil throughout the mortuary process. Many accept the designs imposed on them, others take time, but end up accepting and some do not. Within the disincarnation process, there are two different situations: the transition and the search.

Kingdom of Lira

The “Kingdom of the Lira” is one of the greatest mysteries within Quimbanda. According to the Priberam Dictionary of the Portuguese Language, “Lira” means a stringed musical instrument used in medieval times. Only with this direction we would not understand the esoteric depth of that Kingdom, for that reason we must resort to history to better understand the association between the word "Lira" and the Kingdom of Exu that it represents.

As previously described, the “Kalunga Grande” concept is quite broad. We understand that the “Reino da Praia” is made up of both the sea and the sand, rocks, rivers and surrounding forest. Another important aspect is that the word beach applies to both fresh and salt water. We are a family owned and operated business.
